After lunch we went to Alcatraz. It was a beautiful day, the weather was great it was 82 degrees. Chad and I did the audio tour, it had great stories of the prison and prisoners. There were beautiful views of the city from the island.
Daniel was our very own personal photographer on the trip. He recently bought a big new camera and took lots of pictures of us. I am sure more than he even knows what to do with.
The next day we went to the convetnion in the morning, and Chad explored in the afternoon. We went to Pier 39 with Dr. Kimball and family for dinner. We had a nice dinner on the pier with a great view of the bay. There was a street performer that pulled Chad up on the stage to help her with her act. It was fun to watch him up there, but the lady was crazy. After we went to Ghiradelli Square for dessert.
We stayed at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in Union Square. It was a super nice hotel and we felt a little out of place at such a nice place. We stayed on the 23rd floor. It was just a few blocks from the convention center.
We had a relaxing time, ate a lot of food and saw a bunch of touristy things. Daniel and Amy were very gracious hosts and showed us their new city and favorite spots.
We sure missed our kids while we were gone. My mom and Samantha watched our kids for us. The kids had so much fun with them, I don't think they even missed us. We are so lucky to have such great family to help us out. I couldn't help it, I had to buy the kids outfits in Chinatown.
