Our trip to Ophir, Utah

Chad and I have been exploring Tooele county. This past Saturday we went to Ophir, it is an old mining town south of Tooele. The mines were open from 1870 to the 1970's. The metals mined were lead, silver, zinc, copper and gold. It was once a town of nearly 6,000 people. Today there were about 30 homes in the canyon. It was a neat experience.

They have a museum that is open on Saturdays that has a few of the original homes from the early 1900's.
There were a few spots where the road was covered by the stream.
This house is in its original site, never moved. The others were moved from the original sites.
This is inside one of the homes. (I realize now, that may be too much plaid for me)
